Trigger Point Therapy

A trigger point is a hyper-irritable spot in skeletal muscle that is associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band. The spot is painful on compression and can give rise to characteristic referred pain, referred tenderness, motor dysfunction and autonomic phenomena.

The symptoms produced by trigger points can be diverse and are not limited to pain sensations. Other sensations can include numbness, tingling, hypersensitivity, and a sense of burning. Physical problems caused by trigger points include weakness, lack of coordination, stiffness, swelling, and reduced range of motion.

Trigger point therapy entails deep, focused pressure to release the entrapped muscle fibers and can result in immediate relief, even in some cases of chronic pain.

Structural Integration

(10 session series)

Structural integration is a clinical massage technique that uses a series of 10 sessions to rid the body of myofascial pain and dysfunction. Each session in the 10 session series focuses on different regions of the body to realign the body's structure in gravity.

The 10-session series of structural integration includes a variety of techniques, such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and deep tissue.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release treats skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.
